Up to 20 students rushed to hospital in Limerick following school bus crash

first_imgUp to twenty students have been rushed to hospital in Limerick after a crash between a school bus and a car.The incident occurred in the townland of Caherconlish known as Connelly’s Cross.Around 46 students were on their way to a local secondary school in area when the crash happened at around 8.30am. Several units of the Limerick city and council fire brigade are at the scene and a fleet of ambulances are on stand-by.At least 20 people – 18 minors and two adults – have been taken to hospital, while others are being assessed by paramedics at the scene in a nearby disused filling station.It is not known at this stage if there are any serious injuries as a result of the crash, but it is understood no one is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.A Medivac helicopter is also on standby.
