Alcatel, Chinese smartphone brand bets on Indian smartphone market

After Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi captivated the Indian consumers with Mi3 and Redmi 1S, another Chinese brand Alcatel, ventured into this space today armed with three android based smartphones and a phablet.The entire line-up of four gadgets runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean. The smartphones that have been introduced feature the Idol series. Idol Mini, the entry level model is priced at INR 10,000, while the higher end gadget which is a phablet, Alcatel One Touch Hero, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, comes with a price tag of INR 30,000. One Touch Hero sports an impressive 6 inch HD display, 3400 mAh battery and a 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded to up to 32 GB. It comes with a 13 MP rear camera and also houses a 2 MP front camera.    Sensing the opportunities available in the vast and diverse Indian smartphone market, new players are getting attracted.
